Where do parties take place?
MAKERSPACE Parties take place at Shipley's Donuts at 9203 Main Street, Houston, Texas. Other Art Party options take place at your venue of choice.
How big is the space? How big a space do I need for my Art Party at home?
The space at Shipley's is about 2,000 sq. ft. with plenty of room to create and congregate. If you are having this party in your home, you will want enough room for ten people around a table. Ruthi can bring her own tables!
Who teaches the classes?
Ruthi is a 25+ year art teaching veteran and professional artist, and loves teaching people to create!
Are there any other parties taking place while my party is?
NO! You are getting an EXCLUSIVE space and experience for your event, whether it takes place at Shipley's or in your home or office.
Are there any guests using the space while my party takes place?
Nope. The lobby at Shipley's closes at noon to patrons. While there may still be drive through patrons, they are not allowed into the restaurant. If we are having an Art Party in your space, you will control guest flow and participation!
What about helpers? Do parents have to stay?
Ruthi has an art assistant at all kid's MAKERSPACE parties, but parties for kids under 8 years old will also be asked to have parents remain to assist their children. If we are having an Art Party in your space, Ruthi will assess her assistance needs and be in contact.
What will participants leave with?
Every MAKERSPACE Party participant will leave with a one of a kind art canvas that they painted, as well as a box full of gorgeous chocolates that they created.
The person celebrating their birthday will also get a Shipley's t shirt!
Art Party participants will always leave with everything they've created!
What about chaperones? Can they create too? Can I add guests?
Up to ten people can create for the party price, and whether they are adults or kids doesn't matter to us! Want to add guests? Have a bigger party in mind? Contact Ruthi directly to get a customized party package!
Can we add food options? Décor?
MAKERSPACE Parties offer a decorated, colorful venue and menu items for purchasing. You can absolutely bring your own food items! Adult parties can also bring alcoholic beverages. Art Parties held in your space will require you to supply both food and decor.
