The Family Art Experience is a way for you to create a lasting, large scale masterpiece with your closest loved ones. 

From a couple marking the beginning of their journey, to creating something amazing with your littles, to working on something meaningful and personal with your older kids, or maybe alongside your aging parents, this type of abstract piece will have an entirely different result and experience at every age.

Not just a collaborative art class, this mixed media painting can be personalized in its entirety, with the colors to suit your aesthetic, with additions and custom options to make this artwork one you'll be impacted by daily, be able to appreciate and love as your family changes!

What you'll get:

  • A personal art experience with up to six of your family members
  • An intimate, cherished family experience, sure to be a lasting memory!
  • All the mixed media options, including paints, inks, collage, pastels and more.
  • The option of adding your personal mementos or keepsakes.
  • The opportunity to choose your canvas size, colors and aesthetic.

All paint and art media are included. I supply a roll of primed, unstretched canvas up to 6 feet. Extra media options, such as mementos, keepsakes and specially printed photos can also be added at your discretion. Please discuss your specific dates and needs with Ruthi prior to booking!


Painting Abstracts doesn’t require any special practice or prior experience, and the process of creating large scale abstracts is interactive and fun for all ages! This class takes place in your space or my home studio.

This experience is also offered as a team building or friend/group session experience. Please contact me for details!

What To Expect at a Ruthi Makes Class

Ruthi is a veteran teacher, with Texas Education accreditation in Studio Art and over 25 years of combined classroom experience. In her classes you will enjoy:

  • All the tools, materials and techniques, (except where noted)!
  • Learn at your own pace activities, with one on one assistance!
  • A fun creative experience, full of artistic energy!
  • Lengthy individualized instructional time!
  • No stressing, just a relaxing community experience!
  • Taking home something unique and one of a kind!
  • No experience necessary - EVER!

Cancellation Policy

As a one woman business, all material costs for lessons are taken from reservation fees. Ruthi Makes does not offer refunds for classes unless I am cancelling the class myself.

If you must cancel due to illness or other force majeure circumstances, I ask that you cancel at least 12 hours prior to your class.

The option to rollover your class fee to another class of your choice is good for 12 months. Other classes may require additional fees. All classes require pre-registration, and you may use class credit by emailing ruthi.makes@gmail.com to register.
