Moths, Butterflies and Birds is an newly updated Ruthi Makes class! In this class, you'll create wool rich felt and fabric winged creatures of any kind, using my self drafted patterns. Using simple stitching, trim, paint, and beads, make them lifelike or gorgeously abstract! Watch your winged friends take shape with your own unique designs, shapes and finishes. You will receive materials to make a large winged creature of your choice!
Soft sculpture art is the creation of three-dimensional forms using soft materials such as fabric, wool, and yarn. Unlike traditional sculpture, soft sculpture artists work with pliable materials to create sculptures that are tactile and often playful. The use of soft materials in sculpture allows artists to explore ideas of texture, color, and form in a unique way, and to create works that are both visually appealing and physically inviting to touch.

- Patterns and ideas for your work, or use your own inspo!
- Tons of textured/patterned fabrics and my favorite wool rich felt
- Thread, yarn, and seed beads to add texture
- Embroidery and hand stitching techniques
- Composition design tips you'll use for creating your work
- Piecing instruction
- Patient and at-your-own-pace learning!
Fee includes all materials
While you go at your own rate in all my classes, this tends to be a slow process class.
This class is BYOB, and drinking, (or eating, if you’d like to bring snacks), are always options!
I am dedicated to offering stress free, stress reducing art classes that are fun, no matter what your art experience may be!
*As with all Ruthi Makes classes, no previous experience in art or special talents are necessary!*

Ruthi is a veteran teacher, with Texas Education accreditation in Studio Art and over 25 years of combined classroom experience. In her classes you will enjoy:

Cancellation Policy
As a one woman business, all material costs for lessons are taken from reservation fees. Ruthi Makes does not offer refunds for classes unless I am cancelling the class myself.
If you must cancel due to illness or other force majeure circumstances, I ask that you cancel at least 12 hours prior to your class.
The option to rollover your class fee to another class of your choice is good for 12 months. Other classes may require additional fees. All classes require pre-registration, and you may use class credit by emailing ruthi.makes@gmail.com to register.
